Ceremonial Splendour

The Light Cavalry can help you make your event spectacular in a number of ways:

• An impressive, mounted ceremonial detachment at the entrance to your venue. We will guard the venue with two ceremonially dressed horses and cavalrymen, adding breath taking splendour to the opening of any function or evening.
• An impressive, dismounted carpet guard at your reception or dinner. We line the entrance and/or room where your event is being held and add a sense of occasion by escorting your top table procession into dinner.
• Guards of Honour or escorts for important members of your organisation or visitors arriving at your function.
• In return, we can host you at a reception or dinner at Armoury House, the HAC’s historic and beautiful 18th century headquarters.
• We also offer a ‘Meet The Light Cavalry’ event for groups of up to 40 people. This comprises an illustrated talk on The Light Cavalry; a tour of Armoury House; and a visit to our armoury where visitors can handle swords and other ceremonial equipment whilst enjoying light refreshments.

If you are interested, please note that our presence comes with a financial commitment:

• The Light Cavalry does not receive any funding from the defence budget or other Government sources. It has charitable status as a ceremonial unit of the Honourable Artillery Company and is required to be self-financing. We therefore ask you to cover our costs as an attendance fee.
• The Light Cavalry asks that transport costs from Armoury House to the venue and back be reimbursed; these will always be at highly competitive rates. If a mounted guard is required, horses will be brought in and out of London and, likewise, the cost of which must be covered.
• Membership of The Light Cavalry is entirely voluntary: members pay a substantial joining fee and an annual subscription, and do not receive any payment for their time on duty or costs of travel. In return, we anticipate that those involved will be appropriately hosted before or after the main part of the event.
